A Temporary Solution for Bad Teeth

Hello, it's me, Karen again.  As promised, I am going to keep everyone updated with anything  I feel may help those of us with bad teeth.

Today, I present a sort of "Snap-on-Teeth" as an inexpensive alternative to extensive dental work. Now the commercials you see for Snap-on-Teeth are a little different than what I'm talking about here.  We'll go over actual Snap-On-Teeth in the near future, but for right now I want to introduce you all to Cosmetic Teef by Dr. Bukk a.k.a. Imako Cosmetic Teeth®

I can vouch for these little wonders, since I wear them myself.  They are fake teeth that you put on like the typical Halloween type snap-in-teeth, however these aren't the scary vampire teeth, these are perfectly straight, white, teeth you get in which you custom fit to adjust to your own mouth which cover those unsightly teeth.

They come in two sizes, small and large and two colors, natural color and bleached.  I wear the natural color, since the bleached are way too white for me. I suggest you get the natural color if your bottom teeth are not sparkling white.  Those who have nice, shiny, white teeth on the bottom can go with the bleached. As far as size, they have guidelines on their website about what size you should get depending on how large or small your mouth is.  I get the small and I think most women will too. Most men will probably opt for the large.  The large are slightly larger teeth in size and length.

One bad thing is, that they are only for the top teeth. If you have bad bottoms, like me, they don't make them for you, these are only to cover the top teeth.  My bottom teeth are all but gone, but at least I can have nice looking tops and so can you with these. Also, another bad thing is that they tend to turn very yellow easily, especially if you are a coffee or coke drinker. And apparently, exposure to light causes them to turn color too, but they come with a little box, so you must keep them in the box at night, so they aren't exposed to light.  You can eat and drink while wearing them, but with caution.

Now when you get them, you will get an instruction booklet which shows you how to fit them properly.  There's also a video on the website showing you how to fit them.  It involves hot water and molding the attached plastic to fit over your own teeth, so they sort of snap on.  I still have to use Fixodent for mine to stay in place, because I can never get them to stay snapped in, because I have very few teeth left.  The more teeth you have, the better fit you'll get.  Those with few teeth can still wear them, but they are much harder to get a good fit.

The best thing about them, next to appearing to have nice, white teeth again, is the cost.  At only $39, you can't go wrong.  And they look perfectly real.  When I first got them many, many years ago, everyone though I had veneers placed on my teeth. I actually had bottom teeth them and together my teeth looked awesome.

Here is the link to them: http://www.imako.net/  You can also get their via Dr. Bukk's site at: http://www.drbukk.com/  and look under "Products" and then "Cosmetic Teeth"  You can also find them on eBay from time to time and at a handful of other places on the net.  They are pretty much the same price wherever you go. I get mine from the main site since they seem to deliver quicker.

If you are looking for an inexpensive and temporary way to cover those bad choppers, please visit the site and check them out and tell them we sent you in the referral box at checkout.

I highly recommend these gems for those who cannot afford extensive dental work, but still want to present a nice smile to the world.  Now, they are not for everyone like those with hardly any teeth may have a problems fitting them,  And sorry, they are not recommended for those with buck teeth or braces at all.  However, these teeth may be the answer to prayers for many people out there like me who can't afford dental work.

Thanks for reading...More to come...

  2. I just got my pair of Imako yesterday. I bought the large because the measurement told me that's what I needed but I think maybe I made a mistake. I am going to try and get them to work for now though. I had to snip the outer teeth off. Fitting them is a nightmare for me and it feels like I have a mouthguard in, but I am determined to make them work. I have most of my teeth, but most are broken. They do look real nice though so I am optimistic that I will be able get them working for me and that when I do, I will be happy with them. Thanks for sharing, and I'm happy to know that I can still use regular dental adhesive if i need to.
